The Yamaha 871 is the custom version of Yamaha's 671 professional Geyer-style horn family. It is best understood as a more refined sibling to the Yamaha 671, not a completely unrelated design. The 871 adds custom-level construction details that matter most to advanced players comparing setup, response, and tone color. The inner tubes are made of gold brass, which Yamaha uses to give the horn a richer tonal profile, and the fourth rotor is hollow. Those are not gimmicks, but they also do not mean every player will automatically prefer the 871 over a good 671. The difference is the kind of thing worth trying in person if possible.
