This policy explains how HornReviews.com ("HornReviews," "we," or "us") handles information when you browse the site, submit a review, vote on a review, or contact us.

Information you provide

• Reviews: the horn model, display name, optional email address, headline, review text, ratings, and any playing experience or setup details you choose to provide.
• Contact messages: your name, email address, selected topic, subject, and message.
• Helpful votes: the review you vote on and whether you found it helpful.

Approved reviews are public, including your display name, review text, ratings, submission date, and optional playing context. You may use a nickname or leave the display name blank to appear as Anonymous. Do not put an email address or other private information in the public review text. The email field is not published.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and security services process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, and request times to deliver the site and prevent abuse. Review records also include browser information, the page from which a review was submitted, moderation results, and a hashed version of the submitting IP address for spam and duplicate checks.

Helpful voting uses a randomly generated identifier and vote information stored in your browser's session storage. The server stores a hashed identifier to limit duplicate votes; an IP address may be used as a fallback. Hashing does not mean this information is necessarily anonymous.

Analytics, cookies, and browser storage

We use Google Analytics to understand visits, pages viewed, and interactions such as searches, navigation, and review activity. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information about your browser, device, and activity on the site. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and site storage. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers. Blocking storage or security services may affect voting or form submissions. The site currently does not change its analytics behavior in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal.

Third-party services may collect information about your activity across websites according to their own settings and policies. If you follow a retailer or affiliate link, that destination may use its own cookies or tracking. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

How information is used and shared

We use this information to publish and moderate reviews, calculate ratings and vote counts, respond to messages, correct content, understand site usage, and prevent spam or misuse. Review emails are used for follow-up about a submission; contact emails are used to handle your message.

Service providers process information to operate the site. These include Cloudflare for hosting, database storage, and Turnstile spam protection; Google for Analytics and the site's email inbox; and Resend for delivering contact messages and review notifications. Site administrators can access information needed to respond to messages and manage reviews. Relevant provider information is available from Cloudflare, Google, and Resend.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or protect the site and its users. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own.

How long information is kept

Published reviews are intended to remain available as a reference for other players. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule for review records or helpful-vote records, including related moderation and security information. Contact messages and review notifications may remain in the site's email inbox. Service providers retain their own records according to their settings and policies.

You can request deletion as described below. Some information may need to be retained for security, resolving a dispute, or legal obligations. Removed public content may also remain temporarily in backups or in copies held by search engines or other third parties.

Your choices and requests

To ask about information we hold about you, request access or correction, or request deletion of a message or review, contact HornReviews. Include enough detail to identify the message or review, but do not send passwords or sensitive identity documents. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting. Your rights and any applicable exceptions depend on the laws where you live.

Children's information

Children under 13 should not submit personal information through the site. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
